🧩 7. Assembly

The easiest layout is:

πŸ•ΈοΈ 🏚️ πŸŽƒ πŸ•ΈοΈ
   πŸ¦‡ πŸ•ΈοΈ πŸ¦‡
πŸ•ΈοΈ πŸŽƒ 🏚️ πŸ•ΈοΈ
   🏚️ πŸ•ΈοΈ πŸŽƒ
πŸ•ΈοΈ πŸ¦‡ 🏚️ πŸ•ΈοΈ

Arrange the pieces until you get the alternating look shown in the video.

Joining

Place two motifs together with wrong sides facing.

Using black yarn:

Sc through both motifs, working through corresponding stitches/spaces.

For a flatter, more delicate finish, use sl st through both pieces instead.

Continue joining until the runner is assembled.

πŸ–€ 8. Outer Border

Once everything is joined, work around the entire outside edge.

Border Round 1

Attach black yarn.

Sc evenly around the entire runner.

At each corner:

sc, ch 2, sc

to keep the corner flat.

Border Round 2 β€” Spiderweb edge

Ch 5, skip 2 stitches, sc in next stitch.

Repeat around.

At the corners, work an additional ch-5 loop.

Fasten off.

Weave in all ends.

✨ Finishing

Lightly block the finished runner:

  1. Pin it into the desired shape.
  2. Lightly dampen it.
  3. Allow it to dry completely.
  4. Remove the pins.

This will make the spiderwebs and openwork motifs much more defined.

Color combination

For the closest overall look to the video:

🟣 Purple = spiderwebs
⚫ Black = haunted houses, bats & spiders
🀍 Cream = round web motifs
🟠 Orange/purple = pumpkins

If you want, I can also turn this into a proper printable crochet pattern with a stitch chart/diagram for every motif.
